Function

Allows the addition, change, and deletion of bill of materials operation codes.

Select Operation Codes from the Inquiry and Maintenance menu.

About the Fields

To enable edits to the form select  .

 

In the Operation Code field...

  • Enter a valid code to identify this operation.

  • Click Record query to display the list of operation codes.

  • Click the record navigating buttons; to view the first record, to view the previous record, to view the next record and to view the last record.

The remaining fields will automatically fill in with information that pertains to the code selected.

 

In the editable fields...

Make edits to the following fields as needed.

  • Description - The description for this operation code.

  • Direct Labor Account - A valid general ledger account. This is the account to which the direct labor amount will be posted during the Inventory Production Register update. If the Shop Floor module is installed, this field will not be used and the direct labor account will come from the work order type.

  • Overhead Labor Account - A valid general ledger account. This is the account to which the overhead labor amount will be posted during the Inventory Production Register update. If the Shop Floor module is installed, this field will be filled with the overhead labor account number from the Work Order Type.

Note:   General Ledger must be installed, and the Bill of Materials system must allow for posting to GL, for the Direct Labor and Overhead Labor fields to be active.

  • Direct Rate - The direct labor rate associated with this operation step.

  • Pieces Per Hour - The default number of pieces that can be completed in one hour.

  • Overhead Factor - The number by which the direct labor amount will be multiplied to arrive at the overhead labor amount.

  • Queue Time - The queue time using a hundredth of an hour. The queue time records the average amount of time material will wait in line for the operation. Queue time will be used for scheduling operations only, and is only enabled if the Shop Floor module is installed.

  • Setup Time - The setup time using hundredths of an hour. The setup time records the amount of time needed to set up for the assembly of the entire lot.

  • Move Time - The move time using hundredths of an hour. The move time records the amount of time needed to move to the next process. Move time will be used for scheduling operations only, and is only enabled if the Shop Floor module is installed.

When finished making entries to the fields…

  • Click New/clear form to clear the form and begin again.

  • Click Save current data to save the report settings.

  • Click Run process to process the report.

CAUTION: Do not delete an Operation Code that is currently in use with a bill or a work order.
