Accounts Receivable - New Customer Defaults
FunctionWhen a new customer is entered in the Accounts Receivable Customer Maintenance task, new customer default information is displayed. This standard sales information, common to the majority of your sales orders and invoices, can be overridden as desired.
NOTE: New Customer Defaults in the AR module is for permanent customers, while the New Customer Defaults task in Order/Invoice Processing is designed for temporary customers.

About the Fields
To enable edits to the form select
In the Customer Type field...
In the Salesperson Code field... Salesperson codes are used in Sales Order and Invoice processing as well as the Sales Analysis module.
In the Terms Code field... Terms codes are used in Sales Order and Invoice processing, Conversion Invoice Entry, Simple Invoice Entry and Cash Receipts.
In the Freight Terms Code field... Freight Terms codes are used in Sales Order and Invoice processing as well as the Sales Analysis module.
In the Territory Code field... Territory codes are used in Sales Order and Invoice processing as well as the Sales Analysis module. They can also be used for setting a range for creating Customer Statements.
In the Distribution Code field... Distribution codes are used to determine GL postings during the Accounts Receivable billing and the Sales Order and Invoice entry functions.

In the Customer Pricing Code field...

In the Label Code field...
In the Tax Code field... Tax codes are used in Sales Order and Invoice processing.
In the Cycle Code field... Cycle codes are used to divide the customer base into separate groups. This enables statements to be sent out over the course of the month in a staggered manner, rather than all at the same time.
From the Sales Analysis dropdown... When the Sales Analysis module is installed, this field controls how sales analysis data is collected for this customer. However, the level of sales analysis detail is limited by the settings created in Sales Analysis Parameter Maintenance.
In the Credit Limit field... When Credit Management is installed, this field reflects the credit limit placed on new customers in the Credit Manager's Review & Release task in Sales Order/Invoice Processing.
From the Credit Hold dropdown...
In the Customer Ship Via field... This is used by the Sales Order/Invoice Processing module.
In the Fee On Board (FOB) field...
Finance Charge? checkbox... Finance charge calculations are made as a separate process, depending on a number of other accounts receivable criteria.
Statements? checkbox... Other selection criteria are available at the time the statements are actually printed.
